The Miami Design Preservation League is happy to announce

the winner of the 2014 Barbara Baer Capitman Design Awards.

"My name is Adriana Sanchez. I was born on September 4th, 1992, in Caracas, Venezuela. My family and I moved to the United States four years ago, just after my graduation from high school. I am currently attending the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, seeking a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design.

I like to express my feelings and creativity through my art and design, havingbeen involved with art all my life. When I was young, I spent countless hours filling up my sketchbook with whatever fascinated me. I enjoy the challenge of turning a concept or idea into a visual communication that conveys a clear and direct message. >>>

>>> Studying Graphic Design allows me to express my creative side, hone my abilities and learn new skills. My inspiration comes from an obsession with creating new artistic concepts. As an artist, I go through the day being inspired by the simple things that are often overlooked in life. All visual objects can form the basis of a graphic design project. I feel like I'm constantly developing as a designer and am passionate about trying out new techniques when it comes to my work. I believe continual professional development is essential to stay current in the design world, and so I am always keen to enhance and develop my skills to maximize my ability.
My career aspirations are to work with an awe-inspiring team of creative, innovative professionals passionate about what they do."
